What experience, skills, qualifications or training do you have to make you the right person for the job?

My personal experience started very early at about 15 years of age with my father being a painter as well. We are accredited by the Skills Institute CPCCPD3031A for Safe Lead Paint and Asbestos Work Practices. Holder of a EWP license (elevated work platform) to 120ft. Accredited Dulux Cool Roof Comercial Installer Registration Nr: CR022. Board member of the MPA. Advisory board member of Dulux Accredited programe and a founding member since2001.

Is there a particular aspect of your trade or industry that you specialise in?

We are specialized on all aspects of spraying: Air less, Air assisted, HVLP, Fine finish(lacquer, stain, epoxy), Actratex spray on tilt up slab. Making good poor plastering jobs. Attention to detail is second to none. We use and recommend sustainable painting practices like Low V.O.C products and Enviro wash.

How do you normally charge for your service?

We prefer fixed contract prices. Definitely think this scenario is the best for any prospecting consumer. This way there are no surprises for our clients. In the event that one particular job couldn’t be assess properly for different reasons will let the consumer know there and then.

How can a customer save money before you start the work? Please give 3 tips.

Tip one: by using our free color consultancy. Tip two: by painting the interior of the wardrobes themselves. Tip three: negotiate. Everything apart from taxes and death is NEGOTIABLE.

What are the typical things that you need to know before you can provide a quote to a customer?

Location must be number one. The size of the premises, what needs to be painted and the state of the surfaces. A site visit will answer all these questions for the benefit of all involved.

Are you an insured business and do you guarantee your work?

Heathurst Coatings is fully insured for public liability for $20 million with MGA insurance brokers. Also we have Workers Compensation insurance with Gallagher Basset.

What makes you the most reliable and trustworthy person for the job?

I’m 55 years young, started my trade with my father back in 1974 in Europe. This is how we make our living, this trade helped us my self and my wife put two kids through university and become successful members of our society. Very proud of them. We are on time every time and treat every premises like our own.

How did you decide to get into your line of work?

Since I was a kid and seeing my father being always happy and content with his profession I wanted to be just like him. He was always respected and prized for his craftsmanship and very loyal to his customers.

What questions do customers most commonly ask you and what is your answer?

Obviously is the price, when can we start and how long is going to take. All fair questions. Apart from that would be what else can we provide for them? -Free color consultancy. -Making good poor plastering jobs -Lead Paint test

His or her level of experience? Insurance details? If is a member of an industry related body like the MPA?. Is he or her DULUX Accredited? Does he or she or their organization have a charter of values?

What do you like most about your job?

Seeing smiling customer faces once the job is finished. Going to bed nite time with a filling of satisfaction that my working day it was a great one and tomorrow is new working day in my chosen occupation.
